Southold Historical Museum presents the 2024 Winter Lecture Series, “Farm to Table: A Not So New Concept.” North Fork culinary pioneer Chef John Ross, an expert in local food and wine, will be the guest speaker for the first lecture: “The Emergence of a True North Fork Cuisine” on February 15, 2024, at 4pm at the Southold Town Recreation Center in Peconic. This FREE lecture series will explore the growing trend of the “Farm to Table” movement and examine the history behind it – from the Indigenous People to the British to Eastern Europeans to now – people have been living off the land. Ross will demonstrate how the years of farming and cooking have evolved into North Fork Cuisine.
